FUEL LINE LEAKS AT CARBURETOR FITTING

Post by joel gopan »

Your CCKW may experience a drip or seepage at the compression fitting on the end of the steel fuel line where it attaches to the carburetor elbow. This can be easily fixed. Using a "Knife File" (a file with a sharp knife edge-they are under $10.00), the ferrule can be carefully cut from the fuel line and a new compression nut and ferrule installed. It takes less than 10 minutes to execute the repair, and your fuel line will perform "as new" while retaining it's original factory appearance. You can really freshen it up by polishing the line with steel wool.
