TOOL BOX LOCK

Post by joel gopan »

Not all CCKWS used a padlock to secure the latch on the Cargo Body Tool compartment. Some used the Curled Wire Pin in place of a padlock and it had a chain attached that was secured to the Door by a Round Head screw.
If you are wanting one, they can be found on the Tool compartment Door of the M-135/M-211 GMC 6X6. This feature is not apparant in the SNLs.
There is no way of establishing which trucks were delivered this way.

Stay tuned, I have more nice tidbits.

The dump bed I purchased off of a 45 CCKW had the coil and chain latch attached to the plywood door. It cleaned up real nice.
