The extra spare does not mean the CCKW-352 had more flats. It did sometimes get loaded heavier because of the nature of the load it was designed to haul, which was artillery ammunition. If you have ever watched trucks trying to place Howitzers in soft terrain, you would son understand the reason for the pair of spares.
