OPEN CAB CANVAS DOORS

Post by joel gopan »

There was an early style and late style canvas door. they all had a devided pair of windows(lights). On the early doors the rearmost light was smaller than the front light. On the later doors, the lights were both the same size. The vision was restricted with the earlier doors. Later Open Cabs had a lower handle at the center of the door opening, the earlier Open Cabs did not have the lower handle. I do not know when the change took place, but the factory photos of the Open Cab CCKW with Wood Cargo Body and 4" USA registration numbers which make it early 43, do not have the lower handle. If there is a hole at the bottom center of your open cab door opening, you have a later version of the open cab. The later Doors with the two matching lights will have a metal Striker (wear plate) riveted to the lower center of the door. The earlier doors will not.
