Any clue what this canvas might be from??

Did WWII vintage CCKW cargo covers have twist snaps on the front and rear end panels? I recently puchased what the seller described as a "tent", sight unseen. It actually appears to be a NOS cargo cover and two end panels. All are stenciled Ypsilanti, MI, and are dated June, 1945. They appear to be about the size of a CCKW cover, but I am wondering about the twist snaps. They also had a number stenciled, which if I remember correctly was 24-C-3425. I've checked my Ord 7 & 8 SNL, but don't find anything with that kind of number.

I'll try to get some measurements and also the manufacturer name (don't seem to recall right now).

I believe the twist snaps are correct.
The overall lenght should be in the vicinity of 13' 6" (353)
10' 6" (352)

Are you talking about the curtain window twist snaps? should have 3 of them aboce the window to hold the flap up and 3 along the bottom og the window. Grommets along the edges.

The cargo cover does not have any..only gromets

I checked the canvas again last night, and realized the twist snaps are only located on the window flaps of the front and rear covers, The panels have grommet holes along the sides and top to allow rope lashing to the top bows. The main canvas is 14’-0â€Â

Sounds like you bought yourself an NOS cargo cover with end curtains for CCKW

What a great find.

just a word of caution, check or inspect the stiching carefully when you put the carvas on. I've had a few NOS CCKW canvas tops etc that looked great until I tried to install them and the aged stiching let go as soon as we gave it a little tug. 60+ year old canvas can fool you.

We would hate to have you new canvas get "the come aparts" at highway speed.

Come to think of it, I had a GI canvas cot that looked great too, but it "let me down" about 3 AM one night this spring - Rrrriiippppp.

It's amazing this stuff still turns up!
