For you M-5 BOMB, & M-7, M-13, M-14, M-18 TRAILER OWNERS

Post by joel gopan »

I have found 2 NOS GI Issue 5 Hole Wheels, one is for 750X18 Tire, and the other is for 750X20 Tire, and could ship them with the NOS 37MM AT Gun Axles I have coming in a few weeks. Will still be pricy, but they are rare, and are scarce. Anybody interested?

M5 Bomb Trailers have 5 bolt Budd wheels. Originally 7.50 x 18 but 7.50 x 20 work just fine. Biggest problem is finding ANY 5 bolt Budd wheels that you would care to inflate!

The M7 et. al. series have 6 bolt Budd wheels like the CCKW using 7.50 x 20 rubber

You are right about the M-7, M-13, M-14, etc, but I will have NOS and nice used 18" and 20" HD 5 Bolt GI Wheels , no junk. You forget I was involved in a NTSB study on Truck Wheel failures. Just waiting for the 37MM axles to get ready. Wheels will be shipped Truck Freight from Russ Jones in Ohio.

How much for the 20" 5 bolters?

I assume these are the right width for 7.50 x 20's and use the CCKW type lock ring system?

Most of the decent ones I find are the come apart in the middle type which can be identified by the large band in the middle of the rim

I do not even know what I am paying for them, also the cost of shipping will be a factor, but one thing I know is that 5 Hole 20" wheels are scarce and that I will not have any probs selling them, they are GI, I have had these before, and have the continuous lock ring. The 5 Hole Budds are 5"wide and normally used the 750X20 tire, the 18" are 7"wide and used the 750X18. I am grabbing the 18" M-5 wheel, as these are very rare, and there are serious collectors who will eventually buy them. All wheels have been inside for 50+ years. I have bought from this place for years.
