Well for one heck of a Christmas present my dad got me a very nice 1943 CCKW. Right off the bat it needs brakes and tires to be safely drivable but it also needs many little things too. My crazy ambition is to fix this up and haul and tow for my dad's construction company and still have a head turner. Hopefully I did this right but here is the link to the actual truck
http://www.flickr.com/photos/37552466@N04/6620765785/[I'm no computer wiz] I joined a group on flickr devoted to the CCKW and they recommended this site, Hell I'll say it now but I'm only 20 and all this is new to me. I have done basic maintenance on modern trucks but like I said it is all basic. I do own a 1971 postal jeep that I'm fixing up and it's my first time ever doing a total rebuild so at least I'm getting some experience right? My weekend goal is to haul my jeep on the back of my truck tow my Model T and of course the truck and put them in car shows too.

Great looking truck and welcome to the world of CCKW's!

You're not that far from me, just over the pass till the end of Hwy 152

If you want a little road trip - I'd like to show you some of my trucks.

Good luck with the CCKW.

Ah crap! Sorry for the late reply, for some reason I'm not getting any emails of replies and I'm puzzled on that one. I'm glad that someone else in California has a CCKW as it seems that all of the ones I see seem to be on the East coast and mid states unless it's me.The other bad part is that I can't drive until May due to medical issues and I don't go far from home but hopefully once I'm cleared to drive I can put it in the local cars around here mainly Aromas and Gilroy and maybe you'll see it if you attend those events.

I agree with Chris, great looking truck! Welcome to the CCKW community. They are such a great and fun truck to own. I live about 30 miles from Chris and own a 43 CCKW short wheel base cargo. One thing I would highly suggest is trying to go to Camp Delta at Tower Park this April.

Both Chris and I will have our trucks there so you can check them out, ask any questions you may have, and just meet some fellow CCKW enthusiasts.
