CCKW Ring Mount?

Take a look at this auction for an alleged 50 cal ring mount.

States it is for the usual suspects of military vehicles including the CCKW and DUKW.

Is it a Ring mount and for what? What are the big coil springs for?

It looks closer to the mounting kit of the mower deck on my Lawn Tractor.

Well, it figures as it is from outside the USA. I would say it is someone looking for a fast buck no matter what it does not fit. It has springs and is from Australia, a Kangaroo thing, maybe? BUYER BEWARE. It is not in my late 70s TMs on Wheeled and armored mounts. Wait for the additional information indicated. A FSN will go a long way. It is apparant that it is not CCKW/DUKW.

man, now that is really suspect. Even I won't bid on that, even though I did buy a Tipper bed, though unintentionally.

Surprised Army Driver didn't recognise this,looks like an early model ejector seat to me.

I have never flown anything that had an ejcector seat.

Helicopters we rode down and the WWII aircraft we had to climb out. I love the open cockpit trainers. All you had to do was un-buckle your harness and roll the airplane over and zip, out you go. Wait a few seconds, pull the D ring and down you float. Never had to do it, thank goodness. I did ride down 2 Huey's in Viet Nam. One shot down the other from transmission failure. Not a happy ride , to say the least. I do believe you are right though.

I will run the FSN if it is Posted. Not too concerned as it is not for WWII Trucks. Chances are that is for Armor, and my MG Mount Manuals only cover up to year 1973. Chances are also that those who are bidding recognise it, and if they posted its identity, bidding will soar. I ain't going to lose sleep over it. The ride from down under sort of weeds out "tire kickers".

Hey, it is amazing what people think they are buying on ebay. Kind of like a poster here that now has to get a 2500 pound steel tipper bed to Texas.
