CCKW Drop-in Comm Shelter?

This area is for ebay, Craigslist, GSA, Government Liquication or other auctions. It should include auctions for WWII trucks, parts, trailers, and directly related equipment and accessories, for CCKW, Chevrolet 1.5 ton, US-6, M5-6, DUKW, and WWII trucks larger than 2.5 ton vehicles only.

Is there such a thing as a slide in Comm unit for the CCKW?

Not a bad looking unit....How bad do you think the floor is rotted?

Add $500 to rent a crane to get it on to a trailer.

Yes!

The HO-17 & HO-27 were used for large radio sets (SCR-399), message centers, and by intercept units. It's about 11 by 6 by 5 feet. The HO-17 is about 2000 lbs. plus about 2500 lbs of commo gear, not too heavy for a CCKW. I think this one would fit nicely in my motor pool. :wink:

Yes, and it is same as the E-Bay one. It is Shelter HQ-17A and can be found on Pages 228-233 of "GMC CCKW-352/353" by Emile Becker & Guy Dentzer. printed in Francaise, German and a bit O English. There are Manuals for it, but they would be TM11 types and I do not have them.

Very interesting, but I have to get a tipper bed back to Texas and one thing to do is enough for me. It would be nice to fix up a communication truck though. :D

Anyone know of a decent HO-17 in the New England area, please let me know.

I have the manual for the SCR-399 and 499 and am restoring the K51 Chev panel with the SCR 299 in it right now...
