Dont you just hate that when you see "We can ship to any location world wide" it just makes think about putting a bid on all the more.

Always wanted a DUKW 8)

Mick,

I see a question from you...

Does the better half know?

Two key phrases in that auction. "running when parked...Intake/exhaust was removed for another DUKW"

and

"Total restoration, hall(sic) bottom is rusted through"

Hmmm?

Just for your FYI.

When I was buying Amsterdam to Port Newark 40' containers (at about the same weight as a DUKW and heavily contract discounted) in the fall of 2006 the price was $4800 USD. The price to Chicago was $5600 USD. With fuel up 30% I doubt that the price has gone down.

 I just had to ask what it would cost to ship it over, he said "Shipping from Jacksonville Florida to Amsterdam is around $2200 U.S. plus trucking $900 from Michigan to Florida" that sounds a very good price but still a bit of a dream really :( .

An no the better half dont know I was looking at it......
