Jim-AD,I agree that date of production and Date of Delivery can be months apart,but I think it just adds to the interest when researching one's truck to find out these little bits of info. any luck with transport yet?

I agree, that is what makes this fun. I have a data plate from a CCKW dump truck. The serial number indicates the truck was manufactured in March of 45 but the DOD to the Army is August of 45. Adds to the intrigue.
