Brockway 666 & Quickway

Post by mick.wilson »

I went and bought myself a Brockway as a long term project but know very little about them, any help or advice you state side truckers can give would be much appreciated, are parts available over there? It look as if there are more in the US than over here. This is a bit of video of the Brockway coming off the low loader.

Hi Mick,

Great truck!

If there's something I can haul from the States to you, please let me know.

Need any help setting up for W&P?

Nice find Mick!

Is the crane original or a post war addition?

It is original. I almost bought one just like it in Manchester NH about 25 years ago. Still kick myself....

The truck engine was blown. 855 cid flathead as I recall. It weighs about 2,500 lbs all by itself.

At 15 out on the boom, it can pick up a fully loaded (cross country) CCKW at 15,000 lbs!!!!!

Ah, but I do have Annie the Schield-Bantam-CCKW crane :D

Thanks Guys. I think it's all original, if it turns out anything like your Bantam doc I will be most pleased. Lots of work to do no her before it moves anywhere but looks like a fun project :D
Are there any Brockway's/White's/Corbit's over there? A friend has found me a hood in Sweden to buy, looking for a radiator cowling next, the rest looks like we can make the panels.
Your right about the engine, its a giant
