well we have stripped the motor down and found a big crack in the crank shaft under the number 2 piston..l've been told l was lucky it didnt seperate or the motor would have destroyed itself??, the mechanic says apart from that the rest is in great shape, the piston has hit somthing above it but has done no real damage and the rest of the engine seems really clean...already have the parts for it, just need the time to go up and give the mechanic a hand as he is doing it for free but l have to help him, he reckons it will be a good learning curve, and that l should stop saying somthing broke in the big end area where the thing goes up and down for the piston thinghy!!! and explain it properly once were finished
