Error message using https-logon

Post by gwb »

Hello,

to secure the logon procedure I intended to use a https logon and received an error message indicating the https-certificate does not fit to the site and is maybe bogus.

The cerificate is issued by "box341.bluehost.com" on September 21. 2007 and valid until 2017.

Is this OK?

Best regards

I have not purchased SSL certificates for this site. That is why you are getting that message.

While I believe it will allow you to logon in a https action, since no sensitive information such as credit card numbers are being exchanged it is not necessary.

Hello Bill,

thank you for your answer!

My concern is only the logon itself, because with https the password would be encrypted while being transfered from the client pc to the server.
