Jim,

I checked...but one line of feedback does not tell it all. I was wondering if anyone purchased and what they thought of the product.

Feedback will not tell a thing.
Details speak for themselves. What happens is that font and exact wording do not always match. Brass was not all that common on factory issue trucks, Army did use brass for replacement. The real proof is that they match original holes.
The gentleman offered to send me dimensions. Not all repros match up to trucks. He has not done so.
We don't hear from customers as some do not care, and others do not want to admit they got screwed. There was a plate frpm France that seller insisted it was original as he bought it at a military flea market. The buyer has contacted me to let me know he got screwed.

It is up to you all to police the plates.
Who wants to buy the first set?

When is the last time you saw an intact CCKW with brass data plates?
Not talking European returns, but genuine US Gov't Surplus sold directly from the Military in the 40s-50s.

I did not bother to look him up on Ebay, so I did not realize he had one line of feedback  next time I will check first. And Joel feedback does tell something, if a seller sells bad products or screws buyers you will know buy all the neg feedback ,thus you can avoid a bad experience and learn from other's mistakes and avoid that seller,so yes feedback does tell you something

Jim,

The space for real feedback on ebay is insufficient. It just allows you to put in snips.

What I am looking for is if anyone has purchased from him and what they thought of the plates.

I am not necessarily looking for cckw plates as he carries alot of other plates for add-ons that are not available elsewhere. i.e. Gun ring plate.

Just looking for alternatives.

I have bought Gun Ring Plates over the years, and none have matched the two holes on the Welded RF M-36 Bracket. Not all brackets were made by Trackson.
The Repro Trackson Data Plate is a good risk, all one has to do is use the data plate as a template for hole #2, and Drive Rivets will do the rest.

There are not many suppliers for the sundry data plates we would all like to have.

Hole location problems are the greatest concern, and we don't have many manufacturers to choose from.
Caveat Emptor.
Don't be a Lemming, just because others don't know what they are buying.

The tooth fairy lurks in the shadows of eBay. Study the offers of those who list every make of horseless carriage after their part "as is".

Much of the stuff offered is buttered with BS.

Question for 42 CCKW, Re eBay How would you explain the following:

CCKW M-38 M-37 MB Sand bags
DT CCKW Carburetor
CCKW G-085 Clamp
GMC CCKW DT Wiper Motor
Willys Dodge MB Nut
Studebaker, MB CCKW Carb Base

Ebay 250197854985 "Studebaker-CCKW" S-421 Shim Kit' it is a .002 Shim Kit for the Conn Rod bearing in the Studebaker, now Jim, good feedback ain't gonna do much for anyone on this offer. He has good feedback.

They ain't CCKW

When you can master the disclaimers on eBay, you will stand a better chance to receive your visions of sugarplums. Until then, looking at good feedback is not a given.

Hi Joel,
I remember you mail and ,I sent respond mail with dimmensions and was sure that you get my message,I see not.
I responde for all questions from customers,
brass data plates;I made them in brass, zinc and aluminuim but ,many customers want brass not zinc, becouse look nicely than zinc on restored dashboard,so I make brass, the same way with Chevrolet data plates one want zinc other brass - all what customer need-must be happy ,
If you have any qestions-just ask
