Veterans Day Parade

Post by armydriver »

Now this was just plain fun. Me , old Betty Boop, my old WWII combat Marine buddy Bob Talbot and Jim Swartz, who posts on this site about wooden cargo bodies, all met and participated in the Veterans Day Patade in Universal City, Texas, some fifteen miles down the road from my house. We were the only military vehicle in the parade. The weather was perfect and the crowd was enthusiastic. Lots of really great looking gals to blow the sirene at( of course 60 and up are our speed) and plenty of veterans that we saluted as we cruised in low trans 3rd gear at idle.
We came away feeling really good and as all three of us are veterans, we felt a lot of pride in knowing that we served when we were needed.

I could not make the Veteran's Day events this year but discovered this by accident:

http://www.gencourt.state.nh.us/ie/

I noticed the rolling pictures on the left. One caught my eye. I said 'hey, that's my deuce!' Then I saw my GPW, then I saw me (on the left).

These pictures were taken by a state photographer a year or two ago at Vets day or Dec 7th when a few of us did a display in front of the state hous in NH.

Guess I helped remind some of Veteran's Day after all......

Cool Doc. It is great when we have the opportunity to see our stuff being seen over and over.
