WEENIE WAKEUP CALL

Post by joel gopan »

Silence, no barking dogs, no hints, nothing in MVPA Supply Line, no promotion, what in Hell you waiting for, the groundhog to see his shadow???. It happens every year, the organizers sleep right thru the window of opportunity to push their own flash in time---LOWELL!
Please, you guys that wander around with the funny Jeep and CCKW hats, don't bunch up out front in the parking lot looking for each other, it scares the crowd away. Go inside and mix with the peons.
This is the turd year this site has had the opportunity to push it, forget how many waterbuckets you can sight, focus on something worthwhile,---LOWELL---, and get on with it.

Get the thumbs out and PUSH the event or it will be a dud.

Date Please?

I have over 20 Lowells under my belt, It can be interesting, but it is only as good as the turn out. Some of the best deals are made in the yard out of the back of a pickup. I have peddled a fewNOS M-37/M-38A1 Fuel tanks and rare DUKW running gear that way. Lots of 700X16 NDT tires have been sold that way.
Manny is a good host at his shop afterwards.
Good place to meet some of the best collectors in New England, Paul Baillargeon fits that bill and always has some useful M-Series 2 1/2 and 5 ton items. Paul is the best weekend mechanic in the country. George Mainieri is a good standby along with Fred potter from Adirondack. Rick Larson always had nice decals to color up your dashboard. Mark O'Malley has sold tons of rare M-38 items. Peter DeBella has good NOS MB/GPW trinkets. It get a little close in there as the attendees do not stick to a rotary traffic pattern. It gets closer when a reinactor in full WWII combat gear with Horseshoe Pack, Canteen and Entrenching Tool gets hung up on your jacket pocket.
This all happens in 3 short hours, and then the guy with the M-35A2 leaves in a cloud of diesel smoke, it is worth seeing him attempt to hit all 5 Speeds in 50 feet, and priceless when he hits Neutral instead of 4th or 5th.
Wish I knew who he was. Uncle Sam sure wouldn't give him in a truck to drive.

Be there.
