"Lest We Forget", Venray, The Netherlands

Post by Kees51 »

From september 23 until october 1 there will be a living history event near Venray, a spot between Overloon and Meijl, where the 7th armoured fought heavily. A US camp will be rebuilt to show what it was like for the soldier in those days. During the week, many schools will visit the camp for a tour that ties in with their history lessons, and in the weekend the public is welcome to visit the camp.

My photos of the event are on Pbase: http://www.pbase.com/kees_s/lestweforget2006

That is fantastic. Living history is the best way to teach history to students as they will remember it forever. Great work and thanks from and old teacher.
