Airshow in Temple, Texas

Post by armydriver »

The Lonestar chapter of the MVPA will be participating in the annual CAF airshow at the airport in Temple , Texas on May 6-8. On Friday night there will be a simulated Atomic Bomb explosion and during the Tora Tora attack movie style buildings will be blown up. The military vehicles will be on static display during the show. Bring in your WWII vehicles to display and join in the fun.

How do you do a simulated an A-bomb explosion? A bright light and then vaporize everything for a square mile? How do you simulate the 6 mile high mushroom cloud?

No offense meant A.D. but this struck me as funny

Seriously it sounds like a great show I wish I was closer....

I am not sure how they do it. They are advertising it as a draw. Many years the CAF did a simulated A bomb explosion while the B-29 FiFi flew over and the Japanese government complained so much it caused kind of an international incendent. Trying to ignore history, as the Japanese ignore the Rape of Nanking.
Anyway I hope to be there to give a report on how they do it.
