This summer from Saturday June 17th until Sunday June 25th , the Santa Fe Water & Sand Festival opens its doors for the second time. During this spectacular event, morte than 150 allied vehicles from the Second World War will be present, and available for showing, driving and viewing. Among these vehicles are very rare and unique items, as well as more 'common' tanks, draglines, jeeps transporters and many more vehicles. There is a real rough terrain prepared for the tank drivers or deardevills.
The Santa Fe Water & Sand Festival 2006 is organised by the

I went to this event on saturday. Many unusual vehicles were there, a '43 mine sweeper ship mostly made of wood, and two DUKWs. One of them was used to do little trips with the public in the nearby canal. And let's not forget the tanks.
I saw only one GMC with a wooden cargo body, but alas it had been rebuilt in 1953 so no original plate.
My (too many) photos are here
