split axle diff painted white

Post by Corne Lauwerijssen »

Hi guys

I almost forgot to say this, but 3 months ago I discovered that my
rear axle differential was painted white ofcourse on the outside.
I saw this because the OD was peeling off.

I know this was done by the british forces, but not with the us forces?

If it could have been a WW2 thing, than I might paint it white.

Greets,

I believe the purpose was for nite time visability while in convoy ( since the black out headlamp will only illuminate vertical objects )
