British GMC

Hi there, Planning a GMC CCKW as my next restoration project,but I like to be different, can anyone tell me if these trucks were lent leased to the british army or RAF and if so what markings,regiments used these trucks. any ideas where I may get pictures,data etc. Mike

From what I've read they did supply some to England prior to the U.S. involvement in the war. If you want to be different check out this link.

CCKW's were used by the British Army in the Western Desert and Italy.

I,'m doing the same with my GMC - did you ever find out anything re. RAF/RCAF use in ww2?

This subject has been discussed on other forums but no evidence of use by RAF has turned up.
