Finally got the truck to an event

Post by Nick Bombini »

I finally was able to make the debut of the truck at an event. I drove out to Eagle Field which isn't very far from me, for the air show they have this last weekend.

The truck still isn't finished yet but its getting close.

Of course every truck owner has to get at least one photo with his truck.

I also have two short videos my dad took as I was driving it around. I was driving away in one with a load of people in the back, and what I didn't know was a couple of guys ran up, handed their garands to the guys in the back, and jumped in. It looks like something you might have seen during the war.

I can't seem to get them uploaded however, otherwise I would post them here.

Nick,

It looked really good this weekend. Glad you guys made it out. Hope to see it out there every year! Maybe next year I will have time to talk you into a ride.

Way to go Nick!

Great pictures and what a way to spend a day. The truck is looking good - all that is needed now is to give the driver a scrub up!!

Note to self
1. Check for cameras before running like a madman.
2. Let Nick know BEFORE I jump on the running board!

I think we all had a great time. The final count for the event:

1 1/2 ton Chevy
SWB CCKW
K-53 CCKW
Shop CCKW
flat bed CCKW
And one DUKW :D

Not bad Nick!

Yeah, and we can also hear you yelling at the top of your lungs "HOP IN! HOP IN!"

I definitely had a good time.

btw, Mike also gave me the uniform he wore to give back to you. I didn't see you on Sunday at all so I need to get those back to you.
