Our new DUKW

Post by mick.wilson »

I don’t know how long it is that I have wanted a DUKW but could never afford one a they are just so expensive, well after doing some dealing and trading with some French mates I finally have one of my bucket list vehicles, she is not the prettiest DUKW but she is a good base to start from with lots of work to keep us busy.

Very nice!

I am very jealous!

Is the propulsion unit currently in the DUKW a water jet?

It looks like it was it Bill, it came with its original 270 engine and transmission but not sure how the French moved her about in the water as its got a flat bottom where the propeller tunnel used to be, maybe an outboard :D
