Hello,
Last Saturday the annual Veterans Day Parade in Vancouver, WA. I had the honor of hauling 2 WWII LCI Veterans in my DUKW. One of them came all the way from Florida with his 2 sons to visit the LCI-713 that is being restored in Portland, Or. (That was a birthday present from his sons) He served on LCI-1074. It landed in the Phillipines along with LCI-713 in 1942! As you can see it was a rather wet cool day. But that did not stop me from crossing the Columbia River! It was the first time either of the Vets had been on a DUKW. Here is a link to a video of the beach landing.

Great! keep up the good work and honoring vets!

Is 1942 correct for having landed in the LCI? We were leaving early on in 1942. Did you mean 1944?
