open cab chevy pic

Post by bobc »

I've been digging through my library this weekend looking for good pictures of" battle dressed" trucks,it's amazing how few pictures of WW2 chevy and GMC truck are in the books about WW2. I did come across this picture in the January 1945 National Geographic, this picture was taken during the victory parade in Paris,I can't tell if it is a cut down CCKW or a open cab replacement on a chevy, but thats what I want. The quality is poor because I don't have a scanner,so it's a picture of a picture.Image

CCKW with Wood Cargo Body. Note the GMC LWB 40 Gallon Fuel tank, CCKW Battery Box, the Spare Gas Can Bracket on the Running Board that Chevrolet never had, the non winch CCKW bumper, and the Clamp on R. Front of Cab for M-36 Mount.

They were probably still undernourished due to the War.
