G506s on the Arctic Circle

Post by Cat Man »

On August 12, 2012 the MVPA Alaska Highway Convoy arrived at the Arctic Circle on the Dempster Highway above Eagle Plains Yukon.

Along with Two Open Cab CCKW's and about 70 Other restored military vehicles, there were SIX Ton and a Half Chevys! That has to be some kind of record? It was cold when dawn came but what a great picture.

We covered 4109 miles Dawson Creek in a figure 8 and returned to Dawson Creek. 1100 miles were on rough gravel like the days of 1942. Plus the miles to and from Dawson Creek for the iron men that drove their trucks from home and back.

Thanks for the awesome photo. With all the events I have been to in Europe and the US there has never been six together at once. I wish mine could have been number seven.
