I am a complete novice when it comes to the Chevorlets, but did they make any wooden cargo beds for the 1 1/2 trucks?

I saw one on a Chev in a junkyard years ago that was correct, so I believe so

G-506 had both Cargo and Dump Bodies made of wood late in the War. I will be brokering a G-506 with Wooden Dump, hopefully soon. The Wood body makes it valuable just for the hardware. Any G506 Cargo or Dump Body is in demand.

I have been waiting for a while. The gentleman, Bill Cook, has it stored on family property in Down East Maine, and has been tied up remodeling his home. I will push him.

Crismons wheeled vehicle book shows a picture of a chevy with a wooden bed,I though the bed I found was for the chevy till I turned it over and the brackets for the mud flaps were spaced for a dual axel set up.so it's for the SWB CCKW,but it looks exactly like the one in Crismons book.

Thanks for all of the information, you answered my question. Jim Scwartz had a letter from Chevorlet thanking his father for all they had done to help Chevorlet, and of course they manufactured wooden cargo bodies. His contract list shows the manufacture of 4x4 wooden cargo bodies but did not specify what vehicle they were far.
That answers the question he asked me.
