Kevin,
My chevy is "put away for the winter " but I can retreive the cover ( since I removed the battery ) and send you a pic via e-mail if the cover is all you need.
Just send a pm with the address.

Hope this helps
John

Was the battery covered by a cover(like the CCKW) or just a hold down bracket? I don't have a picture of the bracket in the TM manual, but I have seen a picture of the hold down in the postwar owner's manual on page 27.

It is a 2 pc cover
the battery hold downbrkt with a 3 sided skirt angled on the sides
And a cover with louvers on the edges that goes over the top of the hold down brkt fastened with 2 wing/bolts

BTW Bob at VoV had some repro avail not to long ago

KevinA I'm still waitin' for your e-mail address send me a PM with it so I can send photos

Hope this helps
John

John-On the inside of the vertical part of the cover, is there a small ledge or piece that rests on the bottom lip of the battery tray?

The hold down bracket sets directly on the top of the battery
The "skirt" has a small space 1/8" between the bottom edge of the sides and the pan/tray/shelf.
The pictured cover is original, the clips for the studs and posts on the tray are also original .
The bracket frame is a new fabrication copying the remains of the original in size, shape, and method of construction.
The skirt is also new as the bottom of the original was "corroded away" due to the acid and trapped debris at the bottom edge ( the reason I made sure there would be a space on the new part )
If there was a ledge on the bottom there was no evidence of it's existance left on my example however.

Hope this helps
John
