troop rack strap

Post by John D »

I have been working on the troop racks and I cannot find a picture of what the rear strap that goes from side to side on the rear of the troop racks looks like. Does anyone have a picture of that strap? Does it use hooks like the jeep doorway straps?

The hook is different from the side straps on a Jeep.

You can use an M-Series until you find the correct WW2 one.

I lost my 1st WW2 one at an airshow. Someone needed it more than me!

My 2nd WW2 strap has an 8-32 hole in it with a bolt and Elastic Stop Nut on it to prevent that hook from being opened unless you have tools to remove the bolt and nut.

I bought a strap off ebay for an M37. At least that was what the seller said. The hardware looks correct. The stap was a khaki color. It had to be expanded to the max to reach from side to side, but it did fit. It is tight but puts a slight pressure on the racks which I guess is good.
