I have a manual that says the hydrovac should be lubed with Bendix B-K Vacuum Cylinder Oil. Does anyone know where to get this stuff or what a modern equivalent would be?

I posted this same question on another site. The answer I got was that the lubricant is no longer available under that name. The substitute is Permatex Jack Hydraulic Oil. It can also be used in the shock absorbers.

Hello John,

Thanks for this information. Are you advanced in your works on your Chevy? On mine, everything has been disassembled and I begin the sand-blast of the frame next weed-end. The engine, transmission, trasfer case, axles, steering box are rebuit and by October, all the mechanical parts will be re-installed and painted OD. The cab needs some body works and I have a mate who is an expert in this kind of works. I made a realy ground up rebuilt and I expect to drive my truck in July 2010.

Best regards

Bill-Yes I am very well along with my truck. It's plated, insured, on the road and runs well. My only drawback is that I do not have the correct cargo bed. I have hopefully found one but I have to see if I can arrange shipping.
