crankshaft timing wheel marks

Post by jakub »

Desperately needed drawing of proper alignment of camshaft and crankshaft timing wheel marks.

Backstory is: yesterday I got in trouble with my GMC, namely crankshaft stopped working, I suspect fibre camshaft wheel is gone. To make matters worse I had to leave the GMC 250 km away from home, so I need to get rescue mission going pretty soon. Thankfully there was a friend with Humvee and we towed GMC to some friend of friend. About 20 kms over mountain roads in pouring rain, at night - not fun at all.

Did not investigate further but I suspect fibre wheel gone. I will be ordering new wheel tomorrow but the question is what is proper alignment, I did spent last few hours browsing internet but got nowhere. Would anyone happen to have some illustrations showing how the marks on the wheels should be aligned ?
