one fellow during his rebuild had inadvertently transposed the front hubs so as the l/h hub had the r/h studs and the r/h hub had the l/h studs. He found that the wheel nuts kept coming loose particularly on the rough roads and you would see him going around them with a wrench every time we stopped for a break.
That is very interesting. For many years, Chrysler products sold here in the States had LH threads on the left side wheels. I had always heard that it was to keep them from coming loose, but I was pretty skeptical, since: 1) None of the Ford or GM cars had this feature, and they did not seem to lose wheels any more frequently than their Chrysler counterparts. And 2) Chrysler stopped using them sometime around the early '70s (I think) without a rash of loose wheel complaints by customers.

But.. Your experience now makes me wonder if maybe there is something to this after all....
