Original AC fuel pump overhaul
I used an MV spares fuel pump overhaul kit for an MB/GPW to overhaul my CCKW fuel pump. I have the type that is same as the jeep with priming lever and steel bowl cover. I'm having trouble getting the truck started now and am suspecting the fuel pump. I had some sludge problems in the fuel filter and am trying to run it off a can using the fuel pump. Was this an okay kit to use and was there anything special that I needed to look out for when I re-built it? Thanks,

The kit is the same as for the CCKW. Did you flex the diaphram before you tightened the flange screws? If not, it won't pump as much fuel....

I read about that somewhere else, but did not do it. Could you describe the procedure for me?
