CCKW Glass

Post by D6c »

Are there any good sources for new glass for a closed cab CCKW?
I found one listing for a 1940 civilian GMC truck but not sure if it's the same.

I've had this truck sitting around for several years and it had good glass all the way around...until my nephews got old enough for BB guns.

On both my Chevy Closed Cab and CCKW open cab I had new glass fabricated by the local automotive glass shop. It was a little bit pricey but I had little choice.

I should have elaborated a little more.

On both they were able to remove the glass and trace the pattern. On my Dodge they only had the frame to work with and had to make a piece without a pattern.

On the closed cab they had an issue with the gasket that goes around the glass before inserting into the frame. I sources that from Jimmy Carter Chevy parts to make sure they used the right one.

All jobs look professional.

The open cab glass, reusing the old window gaskets, and assembly into the panel cost $150 USD.
