Wheel studs

I have been working on my K51 Chev panel and it has a broken wheel stud on the drivers side with the older hubs (non-demountable).

Is this a standard truck item or do I need to get one from an HMV dealer?

Are they hard to press in/out?

Standard item, I used a drift punch to knock my broken studs out, no problems. I used KROIL oil. :)

Be very careful when using a hammer and drift punch, the Banjo Axle studs were factory "swaged" in place after installation, they did it by flaring over the exposed shoulder that protrudes thru the drum. If the hub is not solidly supported from beneath while driving out the stud, it will rebound when struck and there is a great chance of injury. Best take it to a shop be pressed out if you do not remove the outside flare. The Studs are a GI Thing and not a local Civilian truck item. I can't warn you enough about removing a Banjo stud that is broken flush, it is dangerous. The process for removing/installing studs is in your TM9-1801 for the GMC(Chevy wHub/Drum is same), it tells you to use a 7/8" drill to drill off the threaded portion until the "upset" portion is removed. Remember your TM, it provides correct information, refer to it first, ask questions here.Some repairs on your CCKW are best left to professionals.

I was going to take it to a machine shop as I do not have a heavy enough press to do this myself. I do need a stud though.

Joel is right about that TM thing. The beauty is that everything is written and progresses so simply, and if ones follows it all seems to go back together without a problem. My problems have always arising when I went off on my own tangent and did not refer to the TM for guidance. :D

I may have, as I stock Banjo Studs, I will look after 4PM. Front or Rear? I can Order them, but history tells me that they may be mixed in bins, and they are easy to make mistakes with. This isn't for Memorial Day is it?

Drivers side front, non-demountable banjo drum/hub. All I need is one.
