BATTERY BOX NUTS

Has anyone wondered why those nuts only have one "wing"? They are not broken, but designed that way so that they will not have a tendency to unwind by themselves. If loose, the lopsided weight of the nut will cause it to dangle, and not have the inertia to spin. These nuts are a much sought after trophy by those too cheap to buy their own. Keep your eye on them at a show.

cool info Joel. My truck had the one eared nuts on the battery box when I got it. I replaced them with the two eared kind. I am glad I kept the one eared nuts. Thanks.

So it is another crappy day here....49 degrees and drizzle. It has been like this for 3 weeks....and ARGH! I have not been able to get anything done on my trucks.

Can't paint...can't sand blast...all I can do is complain.

...OK...I'm done.

I went out to fondle my truck and check out all the cool stuff Joel has posted up this morning.

I found regular wing nuts on my battery box hold down bolts but found this on the pick head hold down bracket.

The "one wing nut"....

...It would not move anyway as there is so much paint on it.

I just think all these little nuances are so cool.

That is great. Mine has a regular wing nut on it. That is a cool photo of the pick ax head retainer.
